XX WALKING PILGRIMAGE

OUR LADY OF CZESTOCHOWA
SHRINE, DOYLESTOWN, PA
AUGUST 9th TO
AUGUST 12th, 2007. Our guests during the Pilgrimage will be Bishop
Thomas Wenski from Orlando, FL, Bishop Czeslaw Stanula from Brasil,
Redemptorist Fathers, and Franciscan Friars of the Renewal from NY and Newark,
NJ. The XX Walking Pilgrimage will
begin on Thursday, August 9th at 6 am at Ss. Peter & Paul Church in
Great Meadows, NJ. If someone cannot
spend all four days on the pilgrimage it will be possible to join the pilgrims
on any day of the journey. On August
9th and 10th, all who want to join the pilgrimage should come to Ss. Peter
& Paul Church in Great Meadows, NJ, from here you will be transported to
the pilgrims on the trail. On August 11th
and 12th all prospective pilgrims should come to Our Lady of
Czestochowa Shrine in Doylestown, PA at the following times: Saturday, August 11th at 7 am or 7
pm a transport vehicle, marked Walking Pilgrimage, will be parked by the
War Veteran Cemetery gate. You may
register there and board the vehicle.
Then you will be taken to where the pilgrims are. On Sunday, August 12th at 7 am only a
transport vehicle, marked Walking Pilgrimage, will be parked by the War
Veteran Cemetery gate. You may register
there and board the vehicle. You will
be taken to where the pilgrims are. The
closing event of the Walking Pilgrimage will be the Holy Mass, celebrated on
August 12th at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine in Doylestown,
PA. Transportation to Ss. Peter &
Paul Church or Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine is the responsibility of
participants. Cars are not allowed to
follow the Pilgrimage. If you parked
your vehicle at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Great Meadows, NJ you will have
the opportunity during the pilgrimage to be transported back to Ss. Peter &
Paul Church to pick up your car and drive it to the end (Czestochowa Shrine,
Doylestown, PA). At that time you will
be picked up at Czestochowa and transported back to the walkers. This way when you finish the pilgrimage your
vehicle will be there for you to go directly home. During the Pilgrimage all needed information can be obtained by

The Pilgrimage has the spirit of penance, prayer,
and requires appropriate behavior as well as the appropriate dress. Pilgrims are asked to obey the rules of the
pilgrimage.

The Pilgrimage
Rules
1. The Walking Pilgrimage is a retreat. This pilgrimage lasts for four days full of
prayer, kindness, brotherly love, singing, self discipline, confession,
speakers, and daily Mass.
2. The Cross shall lead the pilgrimage at all times
followed by the Marian emblems and then the pilgrims (walkers).
3. The pilgrimage will be divided in groups. All
participants should stay within their assigned group.
4. All teenagers under the age of 18 are required to be
accompanied by a parent or guardian.
5. All children should stay under the care of their
parent or guardian.
6. At each campsite, all pilgrims shall observe the night
silence which begins 30 minutes after the evening Mass concludes and remains in
effect until morning.
7. Pilgrims with health problems are expected to notify
the pilgrimage organizers about any health related issues at the time of
registration.
8. Smoking, use of alcoholic beverages, and illegal drugs
are prohibited during the entire course of the pilgrimage.
9. The religious character of the Pilgrimage requires
appropriate dress code. No beach or similar attire is allowed at any time.
10. The Pilgrimage can be accompanied only by its own
service cars. Because of safety concerns no other cars will be allowed to
follow the pilgrimage. No cars are allowed to stop by the walkers.
11. Pilgrims are responsible for setting it up in the
evening and taking it down the following morning all their own camping
equipment.
12. Littering is prohibited at all rest areas, nightly
campsites, and along the entire walking course of the pilgrimage.
13. There is no fee for video recording or filming this
event but the organizers must be
notified.
14. All pilgrims are expected to follow the directions of
the pilgrimage service personnel at all times.
15. Pilgrims who do not follow the pilgrimage rules will
be dismissed from the pilgrimage immediately.
16. All pilgrims are expected to follow safety rules on
the road as well as on the campsites.
17. In all cases that are not covered by the pilgrimage
rules the pilgrimage organizers will make the final decision as needed.

Washington Bridge to Highway 80 W., exit 19, left to Hackettstown, 2nd light
right onto Rt. 46 W. - about 5 miles -
S.S. Peter and Paul Church (red brick)
is on your right.
From Brooklyn to Holland
Tunnel or Verrazano Bridge, to 78 W., take exit 17, Rt. 31 North to Rt. 46 East
approximately 5 miles S.S. Peter & Peter Church (red brick) is on your
left.
People are required to set up
their own tents in the evening and take them down in the morning the following
day. The pilgrimage service people will
not be responsible for pitching private tents or packing them up.

forests, meadows,
by creeks,
trails and country roads, sometimes with minor physical inconveniences but
always with high spirits.
What to
take with you
on the pilgrimage :
The Holy Bible, prayer book and rosary,
tent, camping mattress, sleeping bag, rain coat, two pair of good shoes,
appropriate clothing (3 sets), several socks (about 2 pair per day), some dry
food, some first-aid items such as powder, elastic bandages, muscular pain
relief, cream for poison ivy, oak, and bugs, dry and wet tissues, towel, tooth
brush, small washbowl, personal hygiene items, sore throat lozenges, etc.
Shorts, short skirts, and swimming
suites are not allowed.
Anyone
who plays guitar or other musical instruments is asked to bring them along.
